Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Document Delivery Service for Duncan Campus

Cameron library provides Document Delivery service to the patrons on Duncan campus. Document Delivery is a free service that provides delivery of Cameron-owned materials to faculty, staff, and students on Duncan campus. The Interlibrary Loan Department is responsible for this service.

What Types of Material Can I Request?

Cameron Library Owned Materials: Any materials that are on circulation can be requested except textbooks and items on reserve. The library lends books and videos. As for journal articles in the non-circulating serial collection and microfilm collection, the library staff will make hard copies for you  when complete citations are received, and deliver them to you.

Materials NOT Owned by Cameron: The library staff will try to fill your requests through the Interlibrary Loan Service (for details, visit ILL page).

How Will My Requested Items Be Processed?

When the library staffer receives your requests, he will get the requested items from the shelf and check them out into your library account. A Document Delivery label with your name and due date will be placed on the cover of a book or on the envelop that contains a copied article (the article is for you to keep).

How Will My Requested Items Be Delivered?

Books, videos, hard copies of articles, and interlibrary loan books will be shipped to you via the university couriers.

Interlibrary-loan articles received electronically will be delivered to you electronically.

How Soon Will I Get My Requested Materials?

It usually takes 1-2 working days for your requested materials owned by Cameron to reach you, depending on situations (for example, when you submit your request(s) and when the couriers come to pick them up on that day.)

For requests filled through the Interlibrary Loan service, it usually takes 1-2 weeks or longer, depending on the situations.

How Long Can I Keep Materials Checked Out via Document Delivery?

Due dates for materials owned by the Cameron Library will depend on patron’s status, for example, students have 30 days. (For details, refer to the Circulation Policies)

Interlibrary Loan books depend on lending libraries’ policies. The due date is on the ILL borrowing label attached to the book.

How Do I Renew Document Delivery Items?

For Cameron Library’s books, renewing a Document Delivery item is just as other patrons renew a regular item. As a student, you can renew each item once.  There are two ways to renew your borrowed items.

  1. You can renew it on line yourself in “My Circulation Account”. https://libinfosource.cameron.edu/patroninfo~S0   First, follow the instruction to log in and then check the items you want to renew, and click the button “Renew Selected Items”.
  2. You can call the circulation desk [(580) 581-2956]  and ask the library staff to help you renew the books if you have problems renewing online.

PLEASE NOTE: You can only renew books 1-4 days earlier than the due date. If your borrowed items are overdue,  you have to contact the library staff to help you renew your overdue items if you want to continue using them.

For ILL Books: Please call the Interlibrary Loan office (580-581-2382) or via email (ill@cameron.edu ) to request a renewal at least three days before the due date.

How Do I Return my Document Delivery Material?

You return the borrowed items to the Duncan Center and the university couriers will carry the items back to the Cameron library.

What Do I Do If my Document Delivery Material Is Overdue?

Return it to the library because once you have a book overdue, your library-use privileges are automatically suspended and your library account is blocked.
